About
Study settings tab describes the information that applies to the entire study.
Select + button associated with Study Settings to add management details about the study.
Pre-defined study-level details
Select the study-level details from the ontology-defined drop down menu options. For this example, select INSTITUTE.
Click the +Add link beside STUDY_INSTITUTE
Enter the details for each of the study settings under the Value column. Depending on ontology settings, the different details maybe free text, a choice from a drop down menu, or a specific date format.
Import Batch Information into the Study Settings
Study Settings information can be batch loaded into the BMS by exporting the file as an excel or .csv file then importing it back with the updated values.
Click Actions → Data collection options → Export study book
Select Settings
Select Excel and Click Export button.
An excel file with two sheets (Description and Observation) will be downloaded. Fill up the information in the Observation sheet. The Description sheet will show the study metadata and details about the variables in the Observation sheet. Save the file.
To load back the information from the updated excel file, Click Actions → Data Collection Options ->Import Study Book
Select Settings. Click Continue.
Select File format. Choose excel. Find the file which will be imported. Click Import.
A message will show if successfully imported and information in the Study Settings will be updated.
Add files to study Level Details
The file extensions supported by default are: png, jpeg, jpg, pdf, json, csv, mpeg, tiff, bmp, and gif. Other file extensions may be added. Please contact your BMS administrator for assistance.
You can associate files with study-level details.
To add a file, Click on the Add Study level files button or the files column.
A new window will be opened. Browse the file of interest and click on the UPLOAD button. A success message is displayed and the file is saved.
You can also associate the uploaded files with related variables. Select the variable in the drop-down table. Note: only traits and selection variables are displayed in the drop-down.
To view the uploaded files, click on the View Study level files button. Use the available ACTIONS to DELETE (Click on the trash icon) or DOWNLOAD (Click on the download icon) the uploaded file(s).
