Germplasm Name Types
Add, modify and delete available name types for germplasm.
Create a new name type
Click on New
Indicate the Code (mandatory), the Name (mandatory), and the Description (optional)
Click on Create
A success message is displayed, and the new Name type is available in the Germplasm Name types table.
Code, Name, Description, and Date values can be filtered and all columns are sortable.
The system will validate that the Code doesn't contain spaces nor special characters and if the Code and Name do not conflict with other names and raise an informative error if that's the case.
Assign a new name type to a germplasm
Click on GID/Designation link for opening the germplasm details.
In the Germplasm tab > Names section, click on New and look for the new name type you created previously or select an existing one.
Add the Name (mandatory), Date (mandatory), and Location (mandatory).
Tick the preferred name checkbox to set the new name as preferred if desired.
Click on Create
A popup message confirms the addition of the new name for the germplasm.
Edit or Delete an existing name type

Click on the Edit icon
Delete
Click on the Trash icon
NOTES: An existing name type cannot be edited or deleted if:
There exists a germplasm name with that name type
The name type is associated with a list
The name type belongs to the list of names that the system uses internally (CODE1, CODE2, CODE3, CRSNM, DRVNM, LNAME, PED, SELHISFIX, and PUI)
The system will validate the condition and raise an informative error if that's the case.

btype
btype indicates the breeding method taken into account in the Coefficient of Parentage calculation:
0 for cross pollinating crops
1 for self fertilizing crops
2 for self-fertilizing with known source but known parents
Click the cell under Value to make it editable.
Change to appropriate value depending on crop. For wheat, btype should set to 1
