How to Add MySQL to Startup Items

This is a workaround for computers where MySQL stays on "Starting" status under Services; applicable when you already disabled the anti-virus and meeting all the BMS software requirements.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Click the Start button >> click All Programs >> right-click the Startup folder >> then click Open.

  2. Open the location that contains the item you want to create a shortcut to: C:\Breeding Management System\infrastructure\mysql\bin or C:\BMS4\infrastructure\mysql\bin

  3. Right-click the mysqld.exe, and then click Create Shortcut. The new shortcut appears in the same location as the original item.

  4. Drag the shortcut into the Startup folder.

The next time you start Windows, MySQL will run automatically.

This how-to applies after successfully installing BMS. It is recommended to raise a JIRA ticket and attach the error log for issues like this, for support team to investigate and provide a permanent solution.
